The Krajaizdevu society of Salacgriva town was established in the autumn of 1908. During its first years of activity it used the premises in the house of Mr. Shtelcs – the merchant. When Svetciems Society House was opened in 1912, the Krajaizdevu society moved to its new premises where it was a co-owner of 1/6 part of the property.

During the time of free Latvia the head of the Krajaizdevu society was Mr. Alfreds Berzins from Krishu House in Kuivizi. He also was the head of the Salaca seashore fishermen's trade association.

On March 25, 1935 the memebers of the Krajaizdevu society sent a telegram to Dr. Karlis Ulmanis – the prime mister and informed the latter on their decision to donate to several organisations:
“The members of the Krajaizdevu society decided to donate to different organisations during their first Free Latvia annual meeting in gratitude for the reunion of the nation. LVL 100 to the foundation of assistance of the war veterans; LVL 150 to the Valmiera Squadron of Aizsargi (Rangers) LVL 100 of which is meant to No. 8 Valmiera Ranger Squadron and LVL 50 to Salacgriva Town Squad, as well as LVL 150 to Voluntary Firefighter Organisation of Salacgriva Town.”
