While the school did not have its own building, the classes took place in the old building of a clergyman that was on the same land plot; the building of the parish school was built in 1876-1877. The building was funded by the local land owners and parish members. The building cost approximately RUB 10 000. The baron Fegezak in Svetciems gave both materials for the building and the amount of money RUB 1000. In 1921 the school became a secondary school and in 1929 it became a gymnasium. After the gymnasium was abolished in 1934, the grades 3 to 6 remained. During the post-war years, the grades of secondary school were placed in the building on Krasta Street. The secondary school returned back to the premises in 1956 after the building had been reconstructed and restored.
