The building of Mezmeiniku School was built in 1876. The school started to function in the same year. All the materials for the needs of construction of the school just in the case of Jemeklis School were donated by the Baron count Brokdorf Alenfeld. Later he presented the building for the needs of the school of the district forever. The land plot, however, was granted on the rights of lease.

The first supervisor and teacher of the school was Frydrych Svede (-1899).

The building of Mezmeiniku School in 1920’s. The school was renamed in honour of the poet Mikus Krogzems gaining the name Auseklis Primary School. The school was closed in 1955.
