The school of Lutheran parish started its activity in Svetciems District in 1860 when there was no definite place or building for the purpose. According to the information presented by the Latvian State Historical Archive the building of the school was constructed in 1878 on the plot of land (approximately 1 ha) allowed by the owner of the Svetciems Manor Mr. Vegesak who allowed the plot of land and the building materials for the needs of the school on one precondition that the school will be available only to the children of Lutheran religious belief. The first teacher – Marcis Berzins starting with 1878. Starting 1897 it was Janis Krumins. Around 1947/48 school year the seven-year school was abolished and only 4 forms were left. Kuikule school was closed in 1963.
